Ingredients

  • 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 8 slices Butterball Turkey Bacon, cooked, drained, chopped
  • 8 slices deli Butterball Oven Roasted Turkey Breast
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup prepared whole berry cranberry sauce

Directions

  1. Spread one side of each slice of bread with 1-1/2 teaspoons of the mustard. Top each with some of the cheese and turkey bacon. Divide the deli sliced turkey evenly between 4 slices of the bread. Cover with reamining bread slices.
  2. Beat eggs, water and nutmeg until blended. Place in a shallow container. Dip both sides of each sandwich into egg mixture.
  3. Meanwhile, melt butter and oil on medium-low heat in skillet large enough to cook 4 sandwiches. Add sandwiches and cook 3 to 4 minutes per side or until light golden brown and cheese is melted.
  4. Remove sandwiches from skillet. Cut diagonally in half. Serve each with a small container (1/4 cup) of the cranberry sauce. NOTE: If a smaller skillet is used, divide butter and oil in half, and cook 2 sandwiches at a time.
